Lilongwe Police Station spokesperson, Hastings Chigalu has confirmed the arrests of three men, including two pastors, for being found in possession of a live pangolin.
The three are Innocent Kalulu, 45, Jonathan Chapotela 36, both pastors of a certain ministry and MacDonald Chimphanje, 39.
Chigalu said that around 4pm yesterday, police officers who were manning Agricultural Research and Extension Trust checkpoint stopped a Toyota Ractis which was coming from Mpingu direction heading to the Capital city.
Upon searching the vehicle, the law enforcers came across a laptop bag with a sack inside that contained the Pangolin.
Police immediately arrested the suspects and seized the pangolin.
Meanwhile, the animal has been taken to Lilongwe Wildlife Centre and the suspects will be taken to court soon.
