Two nabbed over Drug Theft in Neno

Police in Neno have arrested an Assistant Pharmacist and a drug dealer on allegations that they stole medical drugs and hospital equipment at Ligowe health center.

Neno Police Station spokesperson Sub-Inspector Austin Kamwendo has identified the two as 26-year-old Maxwell Jowazi, an Assistant pharmacist, and Austin Kamwendo (not the Neno police spokesperson) aged 20.

According to Sub-Inspector Kamwendo, Kamwendo (drug dealer) was arrested on Friday, March 11th at Zalewa roadblock while Jowazi has been picked up today after a manhunt.

He says the two will answer charges of being found in possession of medical drugs without license and theft by public service respectively.

Jowazi hails from Kavago Village, Traditional authority Kaphuka in Dedza District while Kamwendo from Nicolas Village Traditional Authority Mlauli in Neno district.
