Two killed in road accident in Machinga

Two people have die while nine others have sustained serious injuries after a lorry they were traveling in, overturned along the Bakili Muluzi Highway at Molipa Hills in Machinga.

The accident happened yesterday, according to media reports.

According to reports, the driver of the vehicle who is yet to be identified lost control of the vehicle when its brakes became loose, resulting in uncontrollable reverse and overturning.

Machinga district hospital spokesperson Clifton Ngozo has confirmed his facility has received about 28 people from the accident, two deaths, and nine have been referred to for specialized treatment.

The accident involving a lorry comes barely six days after another fatal lorry accident in Karonga which claimed lives of 25 people.
