Two boys, aged seven and one, have tragically drowned in separate incidents in Dowa District.

The seven-year-old, Mavuto Bykhot, drowned on September 17, 2023, in a well at Chikumbu village while playing.

One-year-old Success Gostino met a similar fate on September 16, 2023, after falling into a bucket of water at Chulu 1 village.

Both incidents were confirmed as suffocation due to drowning by medical personnel and police detectives from Mponela Police, including Mponela Police Public Relations Officer, Macpatson Msadala, adding to the tragic nature of these losses for the communities involved.
