Police in Zomba have arrested two out of the five people for possessing medical drugs and equipment without license.
The two have been incarcerated during the raid exercise conducted by Zomba police as one way of making sure that the district is free from crime which end up arresting five people for various offenses during the dawn of 10 May 2023.
Deputy Public Relations Officer for Zomba Police Aaron Chilala has identified the two as Milward Kandulu and Judith Kandulu.
Chilala said that they have been found with 3 mattress covers and 6 bed sheets marked Zomba Central Hospital and 23 surgical blades, medicines such as Diclofenac, ARVs and begamethamosone just to mention a few.
The other three, have been arrested on charges ranging from cheating, criminal trespass and theft by servant,” said Chilala.
Chilala has said the suspects are expected to appear before court soon to answer applicable charges.
Meanwhile, the police in the district have assured its residents that it will not relent till the district becomes a no go zone for criminals
Milward Kandulu is 42 years old and Judith Kandulu is 51 years old both from Ndojime village, Traditional Authority Mlumbe in Zomba.
