Two arrested at Chileka Airport for stealing core armoured cables

Two men including an ex-convict have been arrested at Chileka International Airport for allegedly stealing core armoured cables along the airport’s runway.

Chileka Police Spokesperson, Jonathan Phillipo has identified the two as Dalitso Lizimba (the ex-convict) aged 31 as well as Alfred Katchana aged 35 both from Mkata village in the area of traditional authority Kuntaja in Blantyre.

The stolen cables are worth K7 million, that’s according to Phillipo.

“However, investigations are still in progress to arrest more culprits on the case,” he said.

The suspects hail from Mkata village, Traditional Authority Kuntaja in Blantyre.
