Two armed thieves killed by angry mob in Neno

Two suspected armed robbers in Neno have been killed by angry community members after they shot to death a Nyasa Manufacturing sales agent, robbing him of his valuables.

The mob also beat half-dead another suspected criminal, currently receiving treatment at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.

Neno police Officer-In-Charge Hanleck Chingole has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Chingole, the surviving injured suspect, Edward Baton, 44, in the company of his two accomplices now deceased, used a pistol to kill the sales agent, Edward Malinga,50, at Chifunga trading center, last night.

Chingolo said, “the thugs were apprehended by the community members who witnessed the robbery, beat them severely, before they poured petrol on them before attempting to set them ablaze, but police arrived in time to their rescue”.
