Travis Greene excited with Malawi gig

Gospel musician Wendy Harawa says her album Wandiyitana will be launched with a special celebration of praise and worship featuring American renowned gospel musician and Pastor, Travis Greene.

In an interview with The Nation on Wednesday, she said the event, scheduled for September 18 at Bingu International Convention Centre (Bicc) in Lilongwe is designed to offer gospel music lovers an opportunity to enjoy gospel music from her new album as well as all famous songs from the American musician whose music has taken the world by storm.

“It will be a night to remember, a night to praise and worship. Something will be moving during the event. It is not an ordinary album launch,” said Harawa.

The gospel musician recalled that she started talking to the team of Travis Greene three years ago.

and powerful night

“As you know he is a world renowned artist and getting him to come here was not easy. They finally came through for me a few months ago and we arranged for the event for September,” said Harawa.

In a video clip sent to The Nation, Greene confirmed his participating

“I am excited to perform in the beautiful country Malawi at Bicc at Wendy Harawa’s album launch. It is going to be an exciting and powerful night. You better be there. I cannot wait to see you. We are going to worship God together,” he said.

Apart from Greene, Harawa will be supported by Paul Kachala.

Wandiyitana album has 12 songs including Akuona, Papa Love, Ndigonjetsa, Kuhambelera, Up The Mountain and Mighty God.

Greene’s career has seen him receiving five Grammy nominations, two Billboards awards, and 11 Stellar Awards. Some of his popular songs include Nara Ekele Mo, Made a Way, See The Light, Won’t Let Go, among others.
