In Mangochi district, one person is reported dead, while hundreds have been rendered destitute following a thurderstorm that blew off the roofs of buildings and other structures yesterday.
A Member of Parliament for Mangochi Central constituency, Victoria Kingston, has told Zodiak this afternoon that a man in his constituency has died after a roof collapsed on him.
Mangochi District Council Spokesperson, Bishop Witmos, has confirmed receiving the death report, saying officers are on the ground to find out, but said the extent of the damage is bigger than expected and a preliminary report will be out soon.
