Three village headmen suspended in Mzimba for failing to control people abusing elderly women

Inkosi Kampingo Sibande in Mzimba has suspended three village headmen for failing to control the youths who were harassing two women, forcing them to bury a dead body in his area.

The three headmen have been identified as Zebedia Zighiri, Mandala Zimba and Alufeyo Mbale.

Inkosi Kampingo Sibande said the three did not give a solid reason for not controlling the youth, that’s why they have been suspended.

According to Sibande, the incident is shameful especially now when the country is observing 16 days of activism against gender based violence.

One of the women was being accused of bewitching her daughter in law who died in South Africa.

Meanwhile, eighteen men and two women have been arrested.
