Three people killed in road accident in Salima

A road accident has claimed three lives and eleven others have sustained various degrees of injuries at Ntika village in Salima district.

Salima Police Spokesperson Rabecca Ndiwate has confirmed the development and has identified the deceased as 23 year old Jamila Kolobe, Chinaza Okwo aged three and Esther Joni,13.

Ndiwate told the press that a Toyota Quantum which was being driven by James Kachipande had twelve people on board and lost control at Ntika as it was heading to Balaka.

She said the vehicle overturned after hitting a pedestrian and in the process killed two people who were among the twelve passengers in the vehicle.

According to Ndiwate all the injured people are currently receiving treatment at Salima District hospital.
