Police in Salima district are keeping in custody 3 men for allegedly stealing K13 million from Salima Sugar Company in the district.
Salima district police spokesperson Rabecca Ndiwate has confirmed the development, identifying the suspects as Godfrey Noah, 25, Saini Korinto, 24, and Blessings Chunga, 40, all being employees of Salima sugar company under contract.
Ndiwate said the 3 were arrested in Mchinji, Mwami boarder, as they were about to escape to Zambia.
Police apprehended them and recovered cash amounting to K5,664,900 from them.
Ndiwate further said their court proceedings are already underway.
