Reports reaching this publication indicate that Zambia’s Holy Cross Namwala Catholic parish priest Fr Kenan Chibawe accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun.

According to I am Catholic Zambia, the priest was to ferry church members when he asked them to wait outside so that he could pick up some of his belongings.

While outside, church members heard a gunshot and rushed inside and found him in pool of blood.

Diocese of Monze Apostolic Administrator has confirmed the death of Fr. Kenan.

The Diocese has since assured church members that further details on the matter will be communicated later.
