A 17 year old girl, Kithuwe Mtunduwatha committed suicide by hanging herself with a mosquito net.

The Incident occurred on October 25, 2023 at Mchotseni Village, Traditional Authority Kanduku.

It is reported that Kithuwe was a form 4 student at Mphande community day secondary school and as usual when going to school she always stopped over at her boyfriend’s crib just to prepare him some home cooked meals, but on that day she was in a sombre mood which startled the boyfriend.

When she knocked off from school she also stopped by at the boy friend’s crib still in a bad mood, the boyfriend went out to fend some food for supper but when he returned home, he was suprised to have noted that the door was stiff, he tried to open it with force and was suprised to have seen his Girlfriend hanging and lifeless.

The case was reported to Mwanza Police station, CID personell rushed to the scene of crime and the remains of Kithuwe was taken to Mwanza district Hospital, postmortem was conducted and results showed that death was caused due to suffocation, secondary to strangulation.

Mwanza Police is advising the public especially Adolescents to always share their burdens to their close friends or any one they can trust when ever they are depressed and that suicide is not the only way out
