A secondary school teacher in Dedza district has been sentenced to 21 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling a 15 year old girl.

The convict has been identified as Alinafe Mkondakutuma aged 40.

The Court head through the state Prosecutor Patrick Chipote , that the teacher has been defiling the girl since 2020, impregnated her three times and forced her to abort the pregnancies.

In mitigation ,the teacher asked the court for leniency saying ,he is the first offender,a breadwinner and he will lose benefits for 16 years of service as a civil servant.

In passing judgement, Principal Resident Magistrate Clemence Chamwenda said,the psychological and traumatic experience the victim has gone through in being defiled, impregnated and made to abort three times will remain with her forever hence the stiff punishment.
