a broader audience globally

“Living for yourself is a waste, but living for others is fulfilling. Education is very important and it can only happen properly if students have enough resources,” he said.

Chimoto, therefore, said he will give music lovers a great time during the fundraising concert which is scheduled to take place on October 14 at Mibawa Multipurpose Hall in Blantyre.

In a separate interview, Mubas lecturer and gospel musician Estiner Katengeza said Mubas students’ directorate and Mubas alumni organised the concert after noticing how some students are struggling to find resources for basic meals.

“For a student to do well, they must be full and have necessary materials to excel. In our case, some students are stressed as they do not even have resources for meals and other materials; hence, our decision to hold this fundraising concert,” she said.

Katengeza said as one of the performing artists, she will dish out various popular songs, including her new Mother’s Day song Amama Inuyo.

“This will be a cherry on top as we will be performing just a day before Mother’s Day,” she said.

Katengeza also said she will be performing with her new band called Zokoma ndi Zoyanja Band. Shammah Vocals and Mibawa Band will also perform during the fundraising concert. Patrons will pay K5 000 standard ticket and K10 000 VIP.
