Tanzania President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan is scheduled to be in the country to attend this year’s Independence Day Celebrations slated for July 6, 2023 at Bingu National Stadium in the capital Lilongwe.

This has been confirmed in a statement released and made available to this publication.

According to the statement, Suhulu will undertake a three-day State visit to the Republic of Malawi from 5th to 7th July 2023.

Samia Suluhu Hassan who is chairperson of Chama Cha Mapinduzi is the sixth and first female president of Tanzania, an office she assumed in 2021 following the death of President John Magufuli.

Tanzania remains a key ally for Malawi mainly because of shared interests in economy, trade, investments, education and culture among other things.
