Suspended board chairperson of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) John Suzi Banda has resigned from the position.

Controller of Statutory Corporations Peter Simbani has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Simbani, Banda has written the ministry of finance about his resignation, but said he has not indicated the reasons.

Last month, President Lazarus Chakwera suspended Banda as PPDA board chairperson for allegedly being involved in corrupt dealings with businessperson Zuneth Sattar to pave way for investigations into the matter.
