A suspect in an unlawful wounding case collapsed in the dock while his bail application was being read at a magistrate court in Mulanje.

Ibrahim Goliati, 22, was taken outside the court by his relatives after he fainted.

The incident occurred as Second Grade Magistrate Mike Chikwana Mbewe was delivering the ruling on Goliati’s bail application.

Despite the suspect’s absence, the magistrate granted him bail and the case is expected to continue on March 10, 2023.

The reasons for Goliati’s collapse are unknown, and it is unclear if he was receiving medical attention following the incident.
