He said, among others, they will increase conference spaces and fit modern conferencing technologies at Sunbird Lilongwe and Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima.
He said: “You will note that in the new conference facilities, the rooms will be fitted with digital screens and there will be break-away rooms, among other things.
“All these changes seek to respond to the current and future complex needs of conferencing.”
Mwale said that apart from the multi-million kwacha conference projects at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach and Sunbird Lilongwe, the hotel chain will also build a new wing of luxurious rooms at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.
One of the bookers, Alumbeni Kaombe from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, thanked Sunbird Tourism plc for its outstanding business approach.
She said the projects bring hope to their customers and they expect world class hotel experience.
Said Kaombe: “There have been times when you find that the facilities are fully booked for conference or accommodation, therefore, this expansion gives us hope that there is going to be more space for customers.”
Apart from Sunbird Lilongwe, Livingstonia Beach, Nkopola Lodge and Ku Chawe, the hotel chain also has Sunbird Capital in Lilongwe, Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre and Sunbird Mzuzu.
It also has Sunbird Waterfront in Salima and Sunbird Chintheche in Nkhata Bay.
