Sub-Traditional Authority (STA) Kwanjana of Thyolo has died today.

The Ministry of Local Government, Unity and Culture spokesperson, Anjoya Mwanza has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.

Mwanza said the late STA Kwanjana, real name James Damiano, succumbed to a stroke at Thyolo District Hospital, where he was receiving treatment.

He was born on April 12, 1943. The chief was installed as STA Kwanjana on November 16, 2019.

He is survived by a wife, 14 children, and 51 grandchildren.

Mwanza says the remains of the fallen STA will be buried on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at his headquarters in Thyolo.
