Stormy rains have damaged roof at M’deza maternity ward and the support facility for patients at Maonde Hospital in Dedza.

Government spokesperson for health in the district, Mwai Liabunya comfirmed the development saying the work of providing health care in these hospitals has been affected by the accident.

According to Liabunya, these two hospitals help more than 20 thousand people in Dedza and currently they are seeking funds to repair the affected structures.

However, Liabunya has appealed to different stakeholders to support them with resources to restore these vital health institutions.
