Information reaching this publication indicates that Ministry of Education has closed St Stephanos Girls Boarding Secondary School in Lilongwe’s Area 25 due to poor sanitation.

Director of Quality Assurance Services in the ministry, Professor Golden Msilimba has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Msilimba, apart from poor sanitation, the school was operating without a license as the one it obtained expired in 2022.

He also said the learning institution has a few toilets which are poorly taken care of and that it was keeping food for boarding scholars at the hostels which were also congested.

Management is yet to comment on the matter.
