South African driver Trust Hlengeni Masingi arrested for possessing 112 bags of Chamba in Dedza

Police in Dedza are keeping in custody a 45 year old South African driver Trust Hlengeni Masingi for being found in possession of 112 bags of Cannabis Sativa Commonly known as Chamba Contrary to section 6 of dangerous drug Act.

Acoording to Dedza Police Assistant Public relations officer Sergeant Beatrice Jefita a team of Police officers led by the officer-incharge for Dedza Police Station Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mwizamose Nyoni who were on patrols, received information that a 30 turnner Scania registration number JWD 356 MP of CLA Trucking Limited has carried bags of Cannabis Sativa which were mixed with bags of Rice husks and was heading to South Africa.

The 30 turnner Scania carried one hundred and twelve bags of Cannabis Sativa each weighing over 50 kilograms and five hundred and fifty bags of Rice husks.

Trust Hlengeni Masingi hails from Denniotln Limpopo city in the Republic of South Africa.

Meanwhile, the exhibit is being kept at Dedza Police Station waiting for analysis.The suspect will appear before court soon.
