Information reaching our desk shows that business mogul Simbi Ashan Phiri has refuted assertions that he was that he was in Malawi in December 2021 to coordinate formation of a new political party called Congress for Democrats.

A statement released by his company Khato Civils describe the allegations as “misleading and slanderous” aimed at damaging reputation of Mr Simbi.

The company has said, their executive chairman is not Peter Simbi Phiri rather Mr Simbi Ashan Phiri and there is no connection between these two.

Khato civils has also disowned a Facebook page called Peter Simbi Phiri quotes carrying profile and cover photo of Mr Phiri saying saying it is making people believe that Peter Simbi Phiri and Mr Simbi Ashan Phiri are related therefore damaging reputation.

Khato has urged the public to disregard the publication and content shared on pseudo Facebook account arguing that Mr Simbi Ashan Phiri has no political ambitions.

However, the company has vowed to take legal action against anyone using Mr Simbi Ashan Phiri pictures to attract page likes because they are misleading people.
