First Grade Magistrate Court in Mchinji have convicted and sentenced a 52-year old security guard 13 years imprisonment for defiling a 4-year old step-daughter in Chibwana Village in the district.
Mchinji Police spokesperson Limbani Mpinganjira has identified the convict as Harrison Mkundi who was in a love affair with the child’s mother.
One night, he grabbed the child by hand and took her to his house where she spent a night and defiled her in the process.
Medical examination proved the girl was indeed defiled; leading to the arrest of the convict.
First Grade Magistrate Yohane Nkhata ordered the convict to spend 13-year in jail with hard labour concurring with the state that he needed to keep the child in safe custody.
Harrison Mkundi hails from Kiri Village, Traditional Authority Malemia in Zomba District.
