Scabies have become a serious issue in Dedza district where it has now spread to eight areas such as Kachindamoto, Kachere and Kamenyagwaza.
According to the director of skin diseases in Dedza, Walter Chambwe, has said from July to September this year, more than 4,510 cases have been reported in the district.
Chambwe added that lack of hygiene, overcrowding in one place and borrowing each other’s clothes are some of the factors that are leading to the spread of the disease
Currently, the health department in the district are distributing medicine to people suffering from this disease.
