Scabies ransack Nkhotakota district

The Nkhotakota District Health Office has expressed worry over the spread of scabies which has affected a number of people in the district.

According to reports there are a lot of people with scabies looking for medical treatment at health facilities in the district.

Spokesperson for the office of DHO, Garry Chilinga, said starting from November last year, the district has registered over 300 cases of the disease.

In addition to that, Chilinga said the office is doing its best to control further spread of the disease.

However, a Health Rights Activist George Jobe, has asked for strengthening precautionary measures to fight against the disease.
