UK-based corruption suspect, Zuneth Sattar, is this morning expected to appear in a London court for a hearing of his request for a bail waiver.
In his application, Sattar wants the authorities to tweak his bail conditions and allow him to travel to Malawi and Dubai
Presently, the controversial businessman’s travel is limited after the UK’s National Crimes Agency (NCA) arrested him in relation to an investigation into state capture level corruption in Malawi.
He was previously able to travel under bail conditions for a related case following his arrest last October but following fresh arrest, the NCA revoked his freedom to travel outside the UK.
According to officials familiar with documents already filed in court, the NCA is expected to argue that Sattar is seeking to travel to Malawi to tamper with evidence.
On his part, Sattar is set to argue that he poses no threat to ongoing investigations.
