Teachers are usually entrusted with looking after their students during school hours.
But a teacher abused that trust which had been bestowed on him after he forced his learners to release their semen inside a bottle.
He kept that bottle in his possession.
The Eastern Cape police told The Star that while an investigation was under way, no arrest has been made.
The Mdingi Senior Secondary teacher was suspended after a Grade 9 learner reported the incidents to his parents, who later made the school aware of the allegations.
According to media reports, have sparked a huge outcry with some questioning why the teacher was harvesting the semen from the young learners.
The claims have sparked the interest of Lusikisiki community members and traditionalists as to the reasons for the “semen collection”.
A traditional healer who spoke to the Star newspaper was quick to iron out the issue.
Gogo Phumla Radebe, a traditional healer in the area, told The Star that the teacher could be using the “male seed” for sacrificial purposes or could be selling the seed to a male reproductive centre.
Gogo Radebe could not give a definitive reason as to why one would do that.
“What does he do with it? He can’t collect it for pleasure… Others collect body parts, that’s why we must tell people the truth that human body parts don’t heal. The police must get to the bottom of this story,” she said.
It is still not clear if the teacher will face criminal charges.
