Rwandan Suspect in Dzaleka Refugee Camp Grenade Attack Charged with Murder

Police have amended the charge of Umoton John Peter, a Rwandan suspected of being responsible for a grenade explosion at Dzaleka Refugee Camp, from grievous harm to murder.

Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Gladson M’bumpha said they have amended the charge because the victim, Butoyi Fedeli, died on Wednesday at Kamuzu Central Hospital.

On December 14, 2022, a grenade exploded at Dzaleka Refugee Camp injuring Fedeli, leader of the Burundi community.
