Rumphi District Hospital Introduces paying services

Rumphi District Hospital has introduced paying service with an aim of making money for other services at the hospital.

Speaking on Thursday, Director of health and social services for Rumphi district, Dr. Westain Nyirenda, said the introduction of paying service at the health facility is getting overwhelming response from the community members in the district.

Nyirenda added that this has been achieved by having awareness campaigns which he said have helped people to understand the importance and the reason of paying service which is to help the progress or the development of health service delivery.

Health Activist Maziko Matemba has asked health authorities in the district to make sure that citizens who cannot afford the paying service are also protected and receiving same treatment from health workers at the hospital.
