ROAD SIGNS TO BE RESTORED IN CHITIPA

The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) called for a meeting on Friday with community members at Kapoka market in Chitipa, to inform them about the plan of restoring road signs and assign house numbers in their area.

Communications Manager for MACRA Zadziko Mankhambo explained to the community members the disadvantage of vandalizing road signs and he has urged them to stop removing the road signs.

He also said that he will include naming roads, assigning road codes and other things, he has a huge benefit for the community just as along as the community helps to take ownership of the project.

Public Relations Officer for Chitipa District Council Bishop Witmos said the project will help a lot in our community since area has no road signs.

Witmos said,” All addresses from each house, road names and area codes have already been provided to MACRA.”
