Reunion Insurance Company Limited has given K3 million to the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) for its annual lakeshore business leaders’ summit to be held in Mangochi in April.
Speaking during the handover of the cheque in Blantyre on Wednesday, Reunion Insurance technical manager responsible for claims and business development Hastings Kapesa said MCCCI plays an important role in the provision of business and economic information for decision-making, organising trade promotion events, representing the business community at national, regional and international fora and also providing business management training.

“As an indigenous brand, Reunion Insurance will continue to support and work with different stakeholders in various industries to fulfill its corporate social responsibility as enshrined in its business model,” he said.
MCCCI head of business linkage and events Linda Madalo Pete thanked the insurance firm for the financial support, which will go a long way to facilitate preparations for the business summit.
“We appreciate Reunion Insurance for accepting our call to sponsor this year’s lakeshore business leaders’ summit. We are highly indebted to them as they were also among sponsors of the 2022 event,” she said.
Pete appealed for more partners in this year’s summit, which will provide a platform for business leaders to discuss and develop transformative business strategies to ensure the country’s economy thrives.
The conference, slated for April 27 to 29, will be held at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge under the theme ‘Transformational leadership in turbulent times’. The guest of honour is expected to be Reserve Bank of Malawi Governor Wilson Banda.
MCCCI has been in the forefront of the country’s private sector development efforts and the summit will be held alongside its annual general meeting.
Reunion Insurance was established in May 2005 and will celebrate 18 years of doing business on May 3 this year.
The firm has branches across the country with a network of brokers and agents that support its operations.
