Results of autopsy of the body of late Bob Mtekama to be out in January

Pathologists Dr. Charles Dzamalala and Professor George Liomba, have told a court sitting in Nkhotakota, that results of an autopsy of the body of late Bob Mtekama, who was the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department for the Malawi Police Service, shall be out mid January 2023.

The two, testified as the 16th and 17th state witnesses respectively, in an enquiry aimed at establishing cause of Mtekama’s death.

Remains of the deceased, were Friday, exhumed for an examination in which Dr. Dzamalala and Professor Liomba, collected specimens for further tests.

Dzamalala said in a brief court session at the grave in Nkhono Village in the area of Traditional Authority Malengachanzi, that first laboratory tests to be conducted in Lilongwe shall determine whether or not it is necessary to have another out of the country.

The enquiry commenced on a request of family members who are not convinced with an earlier medical report that stated that the former police CID boss, succumbed to COVID-19.
