Religious readers join fight against Stigma and HIV/AIDS towards LGBT members

The faith community has joined calls for peaceful co-existence with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender( LGBT) community in the fight against HIV/ AIDS.

The sentiments have made following a recent announcement by the Malawi Human Rights community that members of the LGBT Community are facing challenges to access health care services due to continued discrimination in the society.

Chairperson for Mzimba north District Interfaith AIDS committee Bishop Silence Banda has  said that issues to fight against discrimination is biblical, hence the need for believers to stand against discriminating other human beings.

Banda said the faith community believes that every person is equal despite different beliefs, therefore peaceful co-existence plays a very big role in the fight against the pandemic.
