Relatives of Zambia nurse killed by police officer breaks silence

The family of the woman killed by her police officer husband in Ndola on Tuesday have revealed that the couple lived a violent marriage leading to their eventual separation a few months ago, having been married for two years.

After learning that his wife was allegedly cheating on him with his fellow police officer, Edgar Kamasumba shot his wife dead before wounding his sister-in-law and later turning the gun on himself at Pamodzi Police Post.

Kamasumba, 29, is said to have been based at Chifubu Police Station where he was a member of the Ndola Crack Squad.

The wife’s father, Chibuse Kasakula, reported that his daughter, Deborah Kasakula, 23, was shot dead by her husband and sustained a broken left arm.
