International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies head of delegation for Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia John Roche said they have been collecting funds to provide aid to those affected by the Cholera outbreak and the devastation effects of Cyclone Freddy.
“Our response started with saving life first where we brought various relief items aimed to assist victims to recover from this crisis and we are generating resources where we will rebuild some of the houses that were destroyed by the heavy rains,” he said.
MRCS Secretary General McBain Kanongoza pledged that the organization will continue to provide assistance to those impacted by the Cyclone Freddy disaster until they are fully rehabilitated and reintegrated into their communities.
One of the survivors Yusufu Chilapula, expressed gratitude towards MRCD for their timely support to the affected households where lactating mothers have been reached with the aid.
