PTC Workers Storm Head Office Demanding June Salaries Arrears

Information reaching this publication indicates that Press Corporation Limited (PTC) workers have this morning stormed People’s head office in Blantyre demanding the June salaries arrears.

This is four months after Press Corporation Limited sold one of its subsidiary People’s Trading Center (PTC) to Tafika Holdings Limited.

One of the workers (name-withheld) has said that the new owner is yet to update the employees on many issues including their salaries.

Meanwhile, many shops under PTC are closed due to what the workers are saying economic constraints.

In March, Chief Executive Officer for Peoples, Ferdinand Mchacha confirmed that Tafika Holdings Limited acquired 100% of the shares in PTC from Press Corporation Limited.

More details to come…
