Protesters ask Chakwera to pardon Mussa John

Some protesters trading under the banner concerned citizen have asked President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to pardon 19-year-old Mussa John.

The protesters said this when delivering a petition to the District Commissioner’s office in Blantyre after a peaceful parade.

“We are asking you your Excellency to pardon Mussa John as the laws permit you to,” reads part of the sentence that has also suggested that bail should granted to the boy; pending an appeal Mussa’s lawyers are working on.

Mussa John was slapped with 8 years jail sentence two months ago after being found in possession of Chamba.

The sentence was later reduced to 3 years.
