Professor Peter Mumba’s murder case involving his wife adjourned to July 13

High Court Judge Mzondi Mvula has set July 13 as the date he will deliver his ruling on a case involving the wife of the late professor Peter Mumba, who is suspected to have had a hand in the death of her husband.

Before adjourning the case this morning, the state paraded their last witness detective Steve Kamoto, bringing the total number of witnesses to nine.

Judge Mvula has told the defence to submit their arguments by 2 June and the prosecution until 20 June before his ruling on 13 June, which will determine whether or not the wife, Annie Mumba, has a case to answer.

Professor Mumba died on 25 April 2020 and worked at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) as a chemistry professor.
