Phalombe Police Spokesperson Jimmy Kapanja has confirmed the arrest of a 29-year-old primary school teacher, Francis Kamowa for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old learner in September last year.

According to Kapanja, Kamowa was apprehended yesterday as he was preparing to take a taxi to the location where he has been hiding since September 19, 2021.

Kapanja gave the details of case saying that, the victim was sent by her mother to Mpasa Trading Centre to buy medication, where she was accosted by Kamowa, who took her to a nearby bush and molested her.

Kamowa will appear before court soon.
