President Lazarus Chakwera has elevated five Traditional leaders in Rumphi district, a move aimed at strengthening local governance.
Sub Traditional Authority Chapinduka was elevated to Traditional Authority, signifying a significant change in his role and responsibilities.
The elevation ceremony was presided over by Minister of Local Government, Unity, and Culture Richard Chimwendo Banda.
Three group village headmen, Chipofya, Chimphamba, and Chiwiriwiri, were also elevated to Sub-Traditional Authority during the event.
