The Malawi Police Service (MPS) has broken silence on the gruesome murder of the security guard at Standard Bank in Kasungu.

The security guard identified as Ledson Banda, 65 was murdered by unknown thugs last night and was found dead this morning.

According to Kasungu police spokesperson, Joseph Kachikho, the guard is suspected to have been killed by the robbers who are currently at large.

The suspected thieves are also alleged to have stolen money from the bank but the amount is yet to be known.

The security guard was working under UK security services.
