Police have fired rubber bullets to disperse angry people at City Boundary in Zomba, who were baying for the blood of a suspected thief.

According to information at hand, the suspected broke into the house thinking the occupants were not at home, and a family member immediately locked him in the house and called for help.

People flocked the house where they smashed windows in attempt to bring him out before the police managed to whisk him away from the angry mob.

Currently the tension is still high in the area.
