Police at Zalewa in Neno district have rescued a live pangolin that was found in the area of Traditional Authority Symon in the district.
Neno Police publicist Rebbeca Msoliza has said tha on the night of April 30, 2024, police received a report from village head Ngwenyama 3 that one of her subjects had seen a pangolin near his house.
Upon receipt of the report, police rushed to the scene, where they found the protected species.
The animal has since been rescued, and arrangements have been made to hand it over to the wildlife department.
