Neno Police have recovered the body of a 13-year-old boy, Owen Kajombo, who drowned in the Shire River on October 14, 2023.

The boy’s body was discovered with some bruises, and medical officials at Lisungwi Community Hospital suspect injuries inflicted by a crocodile caused his death.

Authorities used various techniques to scare off the crocodile.

The boy, hailing from Chilundu Village in the area of Traditional Authority Nkukula in Dowa district, tragically lost his life in the river.

The recovered body is now in the Lisungwi Community Hospital mortuary.
