Information reaching this publication indicates that a police officer has shot dead his girlfriend identified as Sabina Bwanali before taking his own life in Dedza District.

The incident happened this morning at a place called Mabush where the house of his girlfriend is located.

Dedza Police spokesperson Beatrice Jefita has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified as the police officer as Paul Mpheluka.

The bodies of the two have been taken to Dedza District Hospital for postmortem.
