Information reaching this publication indicates that Police have arrested businessman Riaz Jankhura, 59, South African businessman of Moshing Nathwani, Javed Alam, 38 over unclaimed police uniforms that are stuck at Kamuzu and Chileka International airports.

Police Public Relations Officer Peter Kalaya has confirmed the development saying the suspects are now in custody waiting to appear before judges.

On 13 February this year, the police confiscated a consignment of unclaimed 10,000 Malawi Police Service (MPS) badges, 5,000 tactical security vests, 3,000 small and medium-size trousers, 2,000 large-size trousers for male personnel and 1,000 extra-large trousers for male personnel at Kamuzu and Chileka international airports and later, arrested about four people connected to the matter.
