Police in Chileka are hunting for unknown assailants who assaulted to death Anthony Phanga, 50. The incident occurred on July 9, 2022 within Kameza area and Phanga later died on July 18, 2022 while receiving treatment at Seventh-day Adventist Hospital in Blantyre.

It is reported that, on the said date the wife to the deceased informed her brother ln-law that her husband was admitted at Mtengo Umodzi Hospital after being attacked by unknown criminals.

The said brother ln-law rushed to the hospital but found his brother(deceased) referred to Seventh-day Adventist Hospital for further medical attention and was discharged few days later.

However, on July 17, 2022 Phanga started hallucinating and was taken back to the same hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

Postmortem conducted at Chiradzulu District Hospital revealed that death was due to head injury following the assault.

Meanwhile police are hunting for the assailants who will answer charges of murder once arrested.
